progress in oil paint for a sea landscape

Well, let’s say that in this paintings used them all.

Did you mention glazing? Did you say scumbling?! Or did you say underpainting? Oh yes baby I used them all.

Let me first tell you something about the location; it is one of my favorite places on earth. Somewhere in Galicia in the north of Spain, a place where the nature shows her divine side and silence becomes the main actor in the whole movie. Believe me you won’t get enough of this place.

I took this photo in the golden hour, when each color shines with ochre and the beauty shows its best side. I use to take selfies in that hour too of myself 😉

Oval or normal canvas? Oval, it is perfect for such a scene. I felt as if I was looking out of a porthole.

I started it with an underpainting, then a bunch of colours for glazing and at the end I used the scumbling for the clouds and the sky tones.

Personally it was a very interesting experience and yes I will use them all in the next one!
